Luis Mascaro, a versatile Brazilian violinist now living in the Netherlands, began studying classical violin at the age of 8 in Campinas. His broad interest in musical styles led him to perform in orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and local bands. He earned double bachelor’s and master’s degrees in both classical and jazz music from renowned institutions such as UNICAMP and universities in the United States. Luis has collaborated with prominent artists like Kurt Masur, Dave Grusin, Pink Martini, The Foo Fighters, and Dua Lipa, blending genres like classical, jazz, pop, and rock in projects such as The Troubadours van Schiedam, Marmoucha Orchestra, and his own D’Acuerdo Quartet.

Nelson Latif, a cavaquinho and acoustic guitar player, developed his musical identity in São Paulo’s 1980s jazz scene. With roots in choro and jazz, he combines Brazilian styles and classical guitar technique with various influences. Latif began studying guitar at the age of fourteen and, by seventeen, was already performing in São Paulo’s nightlife. He received a scholarship to study composition and conducting at Santa Marcelina University and later collaborated with artists like Quinteto Violado and Trio Baru. In addition to being a musician, Latif is also a sociologist, having graduated from the University of São Paulo, and is active in the Educação pela Arte collective.
