Gambia Calls consists of the cora player Lamin Kuyateh and flutist Mark Lotz, who create a fusion with Indian music in this ensemble. For this, they collaborate with tabla virtuoso Tarang Poddar from Mumbai and tabla player and singer Sandip Bhattacharrya from Benares. The sound of the African cora combined with Indian tabla is simply enchanting. It resonates like an orchestra in a continuous trance. The addition of the Indian Bansuri (Bamboo flute) introduces a magical tone, adding an extra layer of intimacy and dynamics. The music reflects Africa, India, Jazz, improvisation, but above all, it takes the audience on a journey through a story celebrating life.
